Zocor and Cholesterol

Zocor is an effective cholesterol lowering drug as it helps reduce heart disease risks. However it has been seen that zocor side effects beat the reason they are being taken in the first place.Zocor side effects can get as dangerous as liver disfunction and muscle weakness whilst they can also be as mild as headaches and skin irritation.

The side effects of zoco medication can also be as serious as causing Myopathy.Myopathy is any abnormal condition or disease of the muscle tissue commonly involving skeletal tissue.Since it is a drug induced condition, it will develop insidiously.Myopathy symptoms will include muscle weakness ,muscle pain and fatigue as mentioned above. It is essential to recognise and diagnose zocro induced myopathy.

It is better to stop using zocor once one has detected the side effects or batter yet reduce the dosage. If not complications like rhabdomyolis and myoglobinuric will occur. One can however opt to use the safer alternatives for cholesterol reduction of which one is the sweet extract from the sugar cane wax .It has been noted to reduce cholesterol levels to as much as zocor does plus with no side effects. However this does not come form all sugars especially refines sugar as it causes other health problems too.It is quite apparent that Policosanol the sweet extract can make a very significant improvement in several cholesterol levels for women as well as for men and it seems to be head and shoulders above the other cholesterol supplements.
